Western Coalfields Limited – CMD Vacancy (Feb 2026)

The current CMD of WCL, Jai Prakash Dwivedi, is due to retire on 31 January 2026. That means a vacancy for Chairman & Managing Director will arise from 1 February 2026. As of now, there’s no public disclosure of the successor; the recruitment or selection process will likely be handled through the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB). This upcoming change will be closely watched given WCL’s importance in India’s coal production and energy sector.
