Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) — Tenure Extension of Chairman

The tenure of Arun Kumar Singh as Chairman and CEO of ONGC has been extended by one year — until 6 December 2026 — by the government. The extension was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), which also constituted a search-cum-selection committee to choose a regular successor. Under Singh’s leadership, ONGC managed to reverse a long decline in output, delivering a 1% rise in crude production in 2024-25. The decision reflects the government’s preference for continuity at the helm of one of India’s largest energy PSUs amid global oil-market volatility.
