ITrS Officers D T Parate and Deepak Jhalani Promoted

Two officers of the Indian Trade Service (ITrS), D T Parate and Deepak Jhalani, have been promoted to the post of Joint Director General of Foreign Trade (Joint DGFT). The promotions have been made against the vacancy year 2026 as part of the regular cadre promotion process within the Directorate General of Foreign Trade. As Joint DGFTs, the officers will assume enhanced responsibilities related to the formulation, interpretation, and implementation of India’s Foreign Trade Policy. Their roles will also involve coordination with export promotion councils, customs authorities, state governments, and international trade bodies to facilitate smooth trade operations.
