NMDC Reports Best-Ever November Performance; Production Up 21% in FY26

NMDC, India’s largest iron ore producer, has recorded its strongest-ever operational performance for both November 2025 and the April–November period of FY 2025–26. The company achieved its highest production and sales figures since inception, reflecting sustained volume growth, strong operational discipline, and stable supply chain management.

In November 2025, NMDC delivered its best performance for any November on record. Production rose to 5.01 million tonnes, an 11% increase compared to 4.51 million tonnes in November 2024, while sales reached 4.17 million tonnes, up 4% from 4.0 million tonnes last year. Production also exceeded the monthly target by 1%, signalling efficient utilisation of mining capacity and consistent output across its mines.

The momentum continued for the fiscal year to date. During April–November FY26, NMDC posted a record 31.48 million tonnes of production — a 21% jump from 26.06 million tonnes in the same period last year. Sales for the period stood at 30.28 million tonnes, up 9% from 27.84 million tonnes in FY25.

CMD Amitava Mukherjee said the performance reflects “steady operational discipline and strong execution,” adding that NMDC remains committed to maintaining efficiency and ensuring a reliable supply of high-quality iron ore to support India’s steel sector.

All three NMDC production units collectively delivered record output for the period. As a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Steel, NMDC continues to strengthen its strategic position, supported by stable domestic demand and ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing mining productivity and cost competitiveness.
