Neeraj Agrawal selected as Ambassador to Mauritania
Neeraj Agrawal (YOA: 2009), presently posted in the Ministry of External Affairs, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. India and Mauritania held their first Foreign Office Consultations in Nouakchott in March 2024, marking a deepening of bilateral ties. During President Droupadi Murmu’s October 2024 visit to Mauritania, both countries signed MoUs, including for visa exemptions and diplomatic training. According to the MEA’s bilateral brief, India opened its embassy in Nouakchott only in June 2021, signaling a recent upscaling of diplomatic presence.
