Indian Army declares 2026 as the year of networking and data centric warfare

The Indian Army has officially declared 2026 as the “Year of Networking and Data Centricity.” The initiative focuses on artificial intelligence integration, real-time battlefield data sharing, and network-enabled combat operations. As part of this transformation, the Army plans to raise 15 to 20 Shaktibaan regiments for drone warfare and establish 25 Bhairav Battalions to enhance technological combat readiness.
