The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has in custody a Junior Engineer, MCD, Najafgarh Zone, Delhi, while accepting a bribe of Rs. 10 lakhs from the complainant. The case was registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation on November 11, following a complaint by a contractor about delays in bill clearance. Searches at the accused officials’ premises uncovered large sums of cash, jewelry, and property documents, pointing to a wider alleged network of graft. The agency has indicated that further arrests cannot be ruled out as the investigation into the pending ₹3 crore bills continues.
