Sanjay Kumar takes Additional DoPT Charge

Sanjay Kumar, Secretary of School Education & Literacy and a 1990 batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre, has been given the additional charge of Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) until January 18, 2026. This temporary assignment underscores his extensive administrative experience across education and personnel management domains.

DoPT oversees 4.2 million central government employees nationwide currently. Kumar implemented NEP 2020 across 1.2 million schools in Bihar successfully. The School Education Ministry launched 5,000 digital classrooms nationwide in 2025. DoPT digitalized 95% of officer transfers, reducing corruption complaints drastically.
