Oman May Transfer Retired Jaguar Aircraft to India for Spares Support

There is speculation that Oman may transfer over 20 retired Jaguar aircraft to India for spares cannibalisation. The move is expected to support the Indian Air Force’s six operational Jaguar squadrons at a time when overall squadron strength has declined to around 30, against a sanctioned strength of 42 squadrons. The additional spares could help extend the operational life of the Jaguar fleet amid ongoing fighter shortages.

Jaguar aircraft form a key strike component. Squadron depletion remains a concern for IAF readiness. Spares sourcing extends legacy platform life. Interim solutions bridge induction delays.
