The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has finalized a Rs 1,950 crore contract with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for the supply of Mountain Radars to the Indian Air Force. Developed by the DRDO, these indigenous radars are designed for surveillance in high-altitude terrain, boasting a 300 km range. The deal underscores the government's commitment to reducing reliance on foreign hardware for critical surveillance infrastructure.
