IIT Ropar Hosts International Conference on Physics Education 2025

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar inaugurated the International Conference on Physics Education (ICPE) 2025, a five-day global conference being held from December 16 to 20, 2025. The conference is organised in collaboration with the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP). It brings together physicists, educators, researchers, and policymakers from India and abroad to deliberate on strengthening physics education amid rapidly evolving scientific and technological landscapes.

The inaugural session was graced by Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, National Science Chair, and Professor of Physics at IISc Bengaluru, as Chief Guest. Prof. Anil Kumar Tripathi, Director, IISER Mohali, attended as the Guest of Honour. Several eminent academicians from leading global institutions are participating. The conference focuses on artificial intelligence in education, quantum technologies, virtual laboratories, active learning, inclusivity, and low-cost experimental tools.
