Gyanesh Kumar may appear before the “One Nation One Election” parliamentary panel

The joint parliamentary committee on the “One Poll” bills has summoned CEC Gyanesh Kumar to depose on December 4, 2025. This is reportedly the first time a serving Chief Election Commissioner has been asked to appear before a panel reviewing election reforms. The hearing relates to the constitutional amendment and union territories legislation connected to the proposal for synchronised elections at all levels. The panel will also meet representatives from the 23rd Law Commission, indicating broader legal scrutiny of the reforms.
