Centre confirms start of PSB merger consultations
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman confirmed consulting developments for merging PSBs to create “banking behemoths,” in association with the RBI. There are no specific timelines in place, but the goal is to reduce the number of PSBs from 12 to fewer entities on a global scale.
