Nagesh Singh Appointed as India’s Next High Commissioner to Australia
Nagesh Singh, who is presently serving as Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Thailand, has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to Australia. He is a 1995 batch officer of the Indian Foreign Service. The appointment places him in charge of one of India’s most strategically important diplomatic missions in the Indo-Pacific region.
India–Australia relations are central to Indo-Pacific strategy. The High Commission manages defence and trade cooperation. Diplomatic continuity supports Quad engagements. Senior IFS officers handle complex bilateral priorities.
