Dr. Hemant Sharad Pande Appointed as Chairman and Managing Director of Western Coalfields Limited
Dr. Hemant Sharad Pande, the current Functional Director Personnel at WCL, has been officially selected as the new Chairman & Managing Director of Western Coalfields Limited after a recent PESB meeting.
Following a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) meeting on February 13, 2026, Dr. Hemant Sharad Pande has been selected to serve as the Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL). Dr. Pande, who currently serves as the Functional Director of Personnel at WCL, was chosen from a pool of 12 interviewed candidates. This appointment was previously anticipated in reports dating back to April 2025 and earlier in February 2026.
