New Terminal Building with enhanced capacity coming up at Adampur Airport

Airports Authority of India, under the supervision of the Ministry of Civil Aviation has an important role to play in the development and upgradation of the civil aviation infrastructure in the country. Considering the surge in the passenger traffic, AAI has undertaken the work of developing a civil enclave at Adampur Airport in Jalandhar, Punjab under Regional Connectivity Scheme. The development work includes construction of new terminal building with enhanced capacity and apron & taxi-track to make it suitable for two Airbus-320 type of aircraft. With total built up area of 6000 sqm. and canopy area of 1920m2, the new terminal building has been designed to process 300 passengers during peak hours. The new passenger terminal building will have two-levels comprising of ground and first floor. The ground floor will be used as remote arrival, departure and service area, and the first floor as AAI staff and Airline offices. City side area of the airport will also be developed with adequate parking facilities for car, taxi and buses along with the landscaping and Rain water harvesting system.
