ITBP jawans practice yoga on International Yoga Day

Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel participated in yoga sessions at their places of deployment in different parts of the country on the occasion of 7th International Day of Yoga in keeping with the COVID19 protocol. The soldiers also enthusiastically practiced yoga at forward posts of the force located in the border areas of Himalayan high altitude. At places, the Yoga exercise was jointly participated by the personnel of the Units of the Force located in Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and Chhattisgarh along with women personnel and families. More than 50 thousand personnel of the force participated in yoga exercises at the deployment sites, which also include places in the Ladakh region which have an altitude of 19,000 feet and minus temperatures, and where there is an intermittent snowfall at places. Yoga was practiced in Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh in all the border units in snow, high altitude conditions to the rugged rain forests and river banks of Arunachal Pradesh. International Yoga Day was not celebrated in public places this year also due to Corona. In Arunachal Pradesh, a yoga program with horses was also organized at
the forces Animal Transport School, Lohitpur, as well as the soldiers practiced yoga in Naxal-affected areas of Chhattisgarh.
