India making circular economy a major basis of urban development, says PM in post-Budget webinar

The way India is developing at a fast pace in the 21st century, many new cities are going to be built in the coming times. In such a situation, the main aspects of urban development in India are development of new cities and modernisation of old systems in old cities: PM Modi in post-Budget webinar . It is unfortunate that after independence only a few planned cities were built in our country. Had 75 new and big planned cities been built in the 75 years of independence, the picture of India would have been different today. Today India is making circular economy a major basis of urban development. Every day thousands of tonnes of municipal waste is generated in our country. In 2014, only 14-15% waste processing was done in the country, today 75% waste is being processed.
