Hon’ble PM inaugurated Deoghar Airport along with various infrastructure and development projects in Jharkhand

Narendra Modi, Honourable Prime Minister today inaugurated an airport in Jharkhand’s Deoghar, which is an important religious destination for devotees visiting from all over the country. The inauguration took place in the august presence of Shri Ramesh Bais, Governor, Jharkhand; Shri Hemant Soren, Chief Minister, Jharkhand; Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, Honourable Union Minister for Civil Aviation. Shri Arjun Munda, Union Minister of Tribal Affairs; Smt. Annapurna Devi, Union MoS for Education; Shri Badal Patralekh, Minister, Government of Jharkhand; Shri Hafizul Hasan, Minister of Government of Jharkhand & Shri Nishikant Dubey, Member of Parliament were also present on the occasion.Prime Minister also inaugurated & laid the foundation stone for multiple infrastructure & development projects of more than Rs.16,800 crore which includes inauguration of 13 projects and foundation stone laying of 12 projects of Rail, Road, Civil Aviation, Petroleum & Natural Gas, Tourism and Health & Family Welfare across Jharkhand. In a significant step to provide direct connectivity to Baba Baidyanath Dham, which is the centre of unwavering faith of crores of devotees, Prime Minister inaugurated the Deoghar Airport. Spread over an area of 654 acres, the airport has been developed by Deoghar Airport Ltd. (a Joint Venture Company of Airports Authority of India & Government of Jharkhand) in collaboration with Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) at an estimated cost of Rs. 400 crores. The terminal building of the airport is equipped to handle 300
passengers during peak hours with annual handling capacity of five lakhs passengers. With a 2500-meter-long runway, the airport is suitable for operation of AirBus 321/ B-737 type of aircraft.
